A Weekend For My Special Boy

I have never driven to the Gold Coast alone. I drove there before but the Husband was with me. Our trip last weekend was my first. I was a bit antsy but I really want to have a lovely weekend with the Little One far from home, so off we went. We had a good and safe drive; as my constant entertainer talked non-stop!

From the start and end of the long weekend, I made sure Kaiden had so much fun!

He had face painting.

Went on this jumping thing.

He wanted to have a donkey ride at first, but I told him that it would be boring as they would just be walking around. Then he saw this and I was surprised that he wanted to go on it. I was glad and amused that my Boy is in for the adventure. He loved jumping up and down and was shrieking with joy!

We went on the AquaDuck bus that goes in the water.

Kaiden thinks that it's so cool that our bumpy bus can float in the water like a boat! He get to drive it with the Captain's help and received an AquaDuck License Certificate!

Had a try at the Mini Golf.

He enjoyed playing at the hotel's pool . . .

. . . and of course, at the beach!

Our stay at the Gold Coast was short but it was filled with such warm memories that Kaiden and I so wished we have shared with his Dada! He already planned to do the same activities and go back to some places when B gets home.

It was a very long and tiring drive on the way home but seeing the fresh face and sweet smile of my Only Son makes it all worth it! An added bonus was when the Little One thanked me for having such a good time! Now, if that will not wipe your exhaustion away, I don't what else would!

Lollipop's Playland And Cafe

We've got a leaflet in the mail about Lollipop's Land's school holiday program where you can leave your child for a morning, afternoon or an all day play. They supply the meals and the kids will have art and craft, games, face painting and just play all day!

Lollipop's Playland and Cafe is an indoor play area where kids can jump, climb, slide and just have fun! As the children play, the parents can rest and have a cup of coffee and a slice of cake or a sandwich, as they have a good cafe too. They can also be a party venue with a fairly good package.

The said establishment just opened a new branch near our place so we checked it out and enrolled the Little One for a whole day of play. He was so excited as we lined up to get in. I stayed for a bit as he settled in and started to go on the slides.

Here's what will keep the Boy busy today . . .

I bet Kaiden is having lots of fun as I'm typing! I will pick him up by 1700H this afternoon. I am just having a quiet day here at home after spending a couple of hours in the mall. Just passing up time as the Husband comes home tomorrow.

Kaiden's Athletics Day

Kaiden's school had a mini-Olympics 2 months ago. Parents were welcome to attend and help out. There were 9 events for the children to go through. It started at around 0900H till past 1300H.

Their class started with the Obstacle Course.

The Long Run

I had to run alongside the Little One because he got tired after the 1st lap but had to do another round. He wanted me to carry him but I said that will be cheating as most of his classmates were also running to the finish line. With enough encouragement, he was able to run faster and finished with a good standing!

The Long Jump

The Relay

The Skipping Rope

The High Jump

The Thong Throwing

The Parachute

I wasn't able to get pics at the balls event because I and the other parents were asked to do something. They were finished by the time we got back.

The children were so fagged out after finishing the 9 events, and us parents too! It was also too hot that seemed to double everyone's exhaustion. All the classes went back to the main tent as badges were given to the kids for their good participation.

It was lunch time and the Pre-Schoolers were treated with juice poppers and burgers!

I took the Little One home after we all went back to their classroom, like what some parents did. Even though the kids were tired, their energy did not seem to dry up as they still ran around everywhere! Oh, Kaiden slept like a log that night!

Kaiden's Manila-made Hair Cut

Everytime we come over to the Philippines for a holiday, the Little One never leaves without having his locks done at Kids Hair Salon over at the 4th Level of Rustan's. He loves the atmosphere there and at the same time, he know that toys are just outside the door, same with the play area.

I forgot the name of the guy who usually cut Kaiden's hair. Unfortunately he wasn't there last Wednesday, so it was a different one who did his hair. Nevertheless, he did a good job!

Kaiden Played While I Shopped

I apologize for not being able to do my usual visit at your blogs, for the Little One and I are having so much fun here in the Philippines! We have so many things to do, people to visit and places to go to, with so little time!

And shopping is one of them! Kaiden gets bored easily with shopping unless we are shopping for toys. It is difficult having a crabby child in tow while you try to enjoy hopping from one shop to the other. I found this minded play area in Glorietta last year, so that is where I take the Little One everytime the Mummy wants some "ME" time in the mall.

The place is called Kevin's Toys and Library, located at the 3rd Floor of Glorietta 4; across Woman and on the corner side of Rustan's. They have TVs, computer games, slides, play balls and lots of books and toys. The staff are very nice and friendly. They have this digital finger print thingy to make sure that it is the same parent/guardian who gets the child out. You will be asked for your finger print before the child get in and on the way out. Pretty good for security.

It was kinda funny to see that Kaiden have different playmates everytime I visit to check on him. He is always on the unlimited rate so I don't have to worry about time. I shop around, go back and get him out so we can eat then I bring him back; before finally going home.

B - Morocco / S and K - Philippines

Lately, things have been transpiring pretty fast for us; after months of patiently waiting for it. We were suddenly left with only a few days to organize and get things ready.

B left for Morocco early this morning, for a grueling 26 hours of flying time and 14 hours of lay overs before reaching Rabat! While our Little Prince and I will be bound for the Philippines days thereafter. I know I have blogged about not going on any trips at the moment; but we have to (though the recent rise of Swine Flu cases in the Philippines are kind of alarming). Our original plan was to go home by September, during Kaiden's school holiday; for his winter break that started last Saturday is suppose to be for our anniversary celebration. With the abrupt turn of events, I decided to bring our Manila trip forward since B will be away. It is also a good chance for Kaiden and I to escape the frigid weather. I know it is rainy season in Manila right now, but it will be warm. I just want to feel some heat before we brave the last month of winter when we get back.

Finally, this trip will pacify the homesickness I have been feeling for weeks! It's only been about 5 months now since we last step in Philippine soil, but I just love being home! I'll be able to be with my family and friends; shop till I drop (or maybe just a little, it's recession!) and gobble up on savory Filipino food! Not long now!

I am thrilled to be home again but I'm also sad because B will be apart from us once more. This time, it will not be just a few days nor weeks trip, but rather a looong one!

The Husband will be in Africa,

. . . while Kaiden and I will still be in Asia.

We may be continents apart but our hearts and minds will always and always be together! That is why we made the most of our togetherness with the little time we had, as a family. For it will be months till we'll be together again.

Anyways, the Husband tried his best to be with his unwell Father as often as he can. B cannot withdraw nor put off his flight, even if he wanted to. We had plenty of discussions about a lot of things; and the end result is that we've got to do what we have to do. With the Lord's guidance, I believe everything will be just fine!

I honestly do not think about the fact that we won't be seeing each other for a long time; 'coz it will surely end in a crying session. I persuade myself to get excited that the Little One and I will have a grand time being in Manila once more!

Recycled Art Gallery

Kaiden's class had a small show about the arts they did with recycled materials. Each student served as tour guides for their parents.

After the tour, the cute little pre-schoolers had a song and dance number that made all the parents giggle because the children looked so adorable as they sing and dance!
