As our ineffable stay in this captivating Eastern European country might soon come to an end, we have been on a tiny quest to find Latvian souvenir pieces for us to take home; like what I have been mentioning at my previous entries. We made a vigorous effort to snoop at Riga's nooks and crannies to find something that will always remind us of our wonderful stay here in Latvia.
You can get those typical souvenir pieces like mugs, plates, linens, etc. But we want something that can be a conversational piece around the house.
We found two interesting shops but they were not Latvian. We decided to still get what caught our eyes since those were very attractive.
The first one was a glass piece made in Lithuania. It's shop here goes by the same name
Stiklo Paslaptis .
They have all sorts of glass pieces from vases to candle holders. It has very unique designs in different colors. We wanted to get a bigger one but we are worried that it might get broken once it reached Australia. So we settled for this, which is quite cute.
* It cost Ls59 = US$134
Then on to that German shop. It is called:
They are the sole distributor here in Latvia of all products from Tom's Company. This German-owned company have such colorful and attractive pieces that you would want to take home with you! Here are some photos of the shop here in Riga:

Very eye-catching, aren't they? I could stay long in the shop and just adore every piece. Most products are quite high-priced, especially the one that is personally made by the owner himself
(Thomas (Tom) Hoffmann). We liked a tea set but to get the whole lot will cost about 1,000Lats or 2k US bucks!
These were the ones we purchased:

*The giraffe cost: Ls219 = $494
*The shoe cost: Ls37 = $84
*The heart cost: Ls139 = $314
So for almost the price of 1 tea set, we get to have 3! I really liked it though, if only not for it's steep price.
If you are interested to check out more of the products, you can go to their website here.
I am pleased with the things we got to remind us of Latvia. Hopefully it will add beauty and a home-y feeling to our humble abode at the Land Down Under. I can't wait till we go home and re-arrange everything around the house!
Gorgeously . . .
