You can get those typical souvenir pieces like mugs, plates, linens, etc. But we want something that can be a conversational piece around the house.
We found two interesting shops but they were not Latvian. We decided to still get what caught our eyes since those were very attractive.
The first one was a glass piece made in Lithuania. It's shop here goes by the same name Stiklo Paslaptis .
They have all sorts of glass pieces from vases to candle holders. It has very unique designs in different colors. We wanted to get a bigger one but we are worried that it might get broken once it reached Australia. So we settled for this, which is quite cute.
* It cost Ls59 = US$134
Then on to that German shop. It is called:
They are the sole distributor here in Latvia of all products from Tom's Company. This German-owned company have such colorful and attractive pieces that you would want to take home with you! Here are some photos of the shop here in Riga:
Very eye-catching, aren't they? I could stay long in the shop and just adore every piece. Most products are quite high-priced, especially the one that is personally made by the owner himself (Thomas (Tom) Hoffmann). We liked a tea set but to get the whole lot will cost about 1,000Lats or 2k US bucks!
These were the ones we purchased:
*The giraffe cost: Ls219 = $494
*The shoe cost: Ls37 = $84
*The heart cost: Ls139 = $314
So for almost the price of 1 tea set, we get to have 3! I really liked it though, if only not for it's steep price.
If you are interested to check out more of the products, you can go to their website here.
I am pleased with the things we got to remind us of Latvia. Hopefully it will add beauty and a home-y feeling to our humble abode at the Land Down Under. I can't wait till we go home and re-arrange everything around the house!
Gorgeously . . .

tama yan, shots k na ng shots sa latvia..tamos wag mo kalimutan ung souvenir ko mula diyan hehe:)
like golden fork resto'..de belchior was co-owned/managed by indians..i notice 3 or 4 stores in dubai alone..kya lang it has little space that couldnt accommodate the shoppers and the bulk of pinoy goods they are selling..alongside there are new and better pinoy bars and resto that may suite ones pinoy pockets..
as per visa rules, u know naman this country, parang bagyo pabago-bago..sometimes the news are exagg..- i was talking wd some travel and they were not seemed affected.. their operation was jst the same..there are no worries for those wd tourists/visa as much as they got relatives or stable friends who will provide bond for them..well the amounts are more bloody however..w/c are however refundable..uae is still and will always welcome new people after all..
